This is week four of our series “On the Road with Jesus”. We started our adventure on the road with disciples in Luke 24:13-35 who were sad and downcast. Today in John 20 we meet disciples locked away, hiding in fear. Life can bring such hardness. Jesus comes to bring peace (his loving presence in grace, through the means of grace and grace-filled people), and his sending into the world. We can set out or continue on the road, confidently led by the Spirit. And that is what we find in the two disciples who return from Emmaus to Jerusalem to excitedly proclaim that Christ is risen indeed! [Pentecost]
