Lutherans believe in the Triune God (the Holy Trinity), Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Bible is the word of God, and it is the only source of inspiration and teaching. God comes to us through hearing the word of God and through the means of grace – baptism and holy communion.
We believe that we are saved 'by grace, for Christ's sake, through faith'. In other words, there is nothing we can do to earn God's favour or to gain eternal life. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus Christ has won all this and more for us.
We are located at 1201 Riverdale Road Box Hill South. If you are driving, we have a car park across the road from the church and there is some on street car parking on Riversdale Road.
There is a drop off car park at the front of the church if a passenger is less mobile.
If arriving by public transport Box Hill Station is a public transport hub. Take the 903 bus to Frank St Box Hill South.
There is a ramp as well as stairs to the doors of the church and most activities are located on ground level. There is a Lift to the first floor if needed.
St Pauls has been blessed by many talented musicians and singers. Our services alternate between Organ and/or piano and choir on the first and third Sundays of the month and contemporary services on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Blended worship is offered on the fifth Sunday of the month.
St Paul's currently worship at 9.30am on Sundays and we hold a midweek worship service on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 1.00pm.
All services include Holy Communion.
A wheelchair accessible bathroom is available, and several ambulant toilets are also available. A baby change table is also located in a ground floor bathroom.
St Pauls has a long tradition of hospitality with tea and coffee and home made snacks after Sunday worship. In addition St Pauls offers a Community Meal on the fourth Sunday of the month.
St Pauls values the presence of children in worship. Every Sunday service includes a kids talk and activity sheets, and all children are welcome to join in with the kid’s ministry program which commences after the sermon.
There is also a parents retreat at the back of the church where parents can take small children during worship and the service is streamed to our community space so parents can still listen to worship while kids let off steam.
St Paul's offers kids and youth ministry, and a vibrant Young Adults group meet after worship. Adult learning opportunities are offered periodically after worship and there is a lovely space to enjoy a tea or coffee and get to meet members after worship too.
A music concert is being planned for the 31st May to benefit our organ appeal.
We don't expect any first time guests to give... We do give our regular attenders and opportunity to give and support our mission, but if this is your first time, we don't expect you to give in any way.
…and if I do want to make an offering?
During our service an offering will be taken, or you can also give electronically via the ‘square’ at the rear of the church.

A handout on Sunday worship roles is available in the foyer - just ask an usher or welcomer. Roles include reading, ushering, musicians (including singers), church preparation, and hospitality which is a wonderful way to meet people. In most cases a ''buddy'' will be provided to help new volunteers find their feet.
Contact Melissa via worship@stpaulsboxhill.org.au to find out about Sunday volunteer roles.
For other volunteer roles please contact Kate kate@stpaulsboxhill.org.au
