In 2018 St Paul's bought the former St James Uniting Church at 1201 Riversdale Rd and approved a master plan to rejuvenate the property in two phases. A major refurbishment of the heritage listed church was completed in 2020. A second project commenced in 2024 (after a pause due to COVID lockdowns) with the redevelopment of the remainder of the site. It was finished in June 2025, several months ahead of schedule. The new two-level building provides extensive hospitality and meeting spaces, as well as additional worship and function spaces for the congregation, its ministries and staff, along with the Chinese Lutheran Church (CLC), and the Victorian and Tasmanian District office of the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand.
