Luke 18:35-42 tells the story of a man begging for Jesus’ help. Despite the opposition of the crowd who try to silence him, the man continues to beg, ‘Have mercy.’ And Jesus comes to that man of faith and heals him. In our worship, we join his cry as Jesus comes amongst us. In receiving his grace for our lives, we then join the angelic choir of heaven, praising God for all he does for us. We are part of the multitude in heaven and on earth who make up the choir of angelic beggars. [Pentecost 9]
