Today, on this festival of All Saints, we remember and give thanks for Christians who have gone ahead of us in the faith. All Saints Day has a long history, beginning with the early martyrs. Over time this day has been used to commemorate all those who have died and gone into God’s glory ahead of us — those who have been given the great blessing of God’s own holiness through Jesus Christ our Saviour.
